The supply of a chemical which cleans the water was cut off – and the dam’s system automatically shut down as a result.“The fault happened during the treatment process. A problem arose in the chemical supply that we didn’t become aware of until the water supply had actually stopped,” said Mr Gillespie.“If it had been an ordinary working day, it wouldn’t have been an issue but because it was a weekend, it became a problem.”WATER BACK ON AFTER DAM FORCED TO SHUT DOWN was last modified: July 25th, 2011 by gregShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:buncranaBurnfoot and NewtowncunninghamFahanHomes in Dunreewater supply cut offlast_img
